April Cottage

April Cottage is a quaint 16th Century cottage set in a secluded part of the village of Fremington. Great care has been taken in decorating and furnishing the cottage to a high standard with modern appliances, whilst ensuring it is in keeping with the cottage’s age and style.

April Cottage Interior

The cottage sleeps six people comfortably. A cot and high chair are also available.
The accommodation comprises:

  • Cosy lounge with stone fireplace with traditional Devon bread oven, woodburner, TV and DVD/video, CD/radio, sofas, a pull out dining table and chairs.
  • Fully fitted kitchen with modern appliances including electric hob and oven, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave and washer/drier
  • Three bedrooms – one with a double bed, two, each with two single beds.
  • Bathroom 1- this has recently been refurbished with shower, separate bath and wash basin. Please note that the shower is not a power shower, it is however perfectly adequate for showering.
  • The second “bathroom” has a  W.C. and basin.
  • Secluded cottage garden with barbecue, lawn and flower borders.
  • Parking space for one car other parking available nearby.
  • Gas central heating is fitted throughout the cottage.
  • There are a couple of small wetsuits that can be used for young children.

Local Amenities:

Fremington Quay  

Fremington is ideally situated for touring North Devon and parts of Somerset and Cornwall. Only 38 miles from the M5 along the A361. Fremington is easy to reach by car. Train services operate from Exeter to Barnstaple which is only a 10 minute drive away.

The nearest airports are Bristol (80 miles), Exeter (60 miles) and Plymouth (65 miles) with very good road networks to North Devon.

Although very near to open countryside and beaches, Fremington also has good facilities including a pub which serves meals, a fish and chip shop and a Chinese restaurant which has take away facilities. They are within easy walking or cycling distance of the cottage.

There is a small supermarket nearby and Sainsburys is approximately 2 miles away.
